DJCAD researcher Pernille Spence's piece Kinaree is being shown at McManus Galleries, Dundee.
Pernille's work is part of the group exhibition entitled about you and your fears. Kinaree opens with a naked body covered in goose fat and honey standing in a glass house. Wind-generating fans, triggered when people pass the installation, cause feathers to rise and swirl around the body. The work is reminiscent of tarring and feathering as a form of punishment and of the myth of Icarus and Daedalus.
about you and your fears runs until 4 January, 2004. It features work by Pernille, DJCAD graduates Michael Mallet and Delia Baillie and Dan Howard-Birt.
