Science lecture series

The opening of the post-genomics centre in the school of life sciences by the Duke of Edinburgh on 28 May also kicks off the series of named lectures in the school. The Adam Neville lecture will be delivered that afternoon by Professor Marc Kirscher of the department of cell biology at Harvard medical school.

Sir Paul Nurse, joint Nobel prize winner with Tim Hunt - who will receive an honorary degree from the University this summer - will deliver the 18th Peter Garland lecture on Friday 31 May.

The 5th Bridget Ogilvie lecture will take place in Friday 7 June and will given by Dr Wim G.J.Hol from the University of Washington.

All lectures will take place in the large lecture theatre of the medical sciences institute at 4pm.
