Environmental matters

The school of town and regional planning recently hosted a very successful seminar and workshop on behalf of the Scotland Central Region of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. The event was held jointly with Lloyds Register Quality Assurance and attracted an audience of academics and practitioners to discuss current developments within environmental management systems.

Representatives attending the seminar came from a wide variety of organisations including academic institutions, local authorities, utility companies, manufacturing and construction industries as well as private consultancies. Questions and answer sessions addressed issues concerned with management systems, quality, environment and health and safety with the moves to an integrated system encompassing all three.
