Summer Sensation - will you be there?

Tickets are now going fast for the biggest social occasion the University has ever planned - Summer Sensation - the staff alumni party on Friday 12 July.

The public area outside the Sensation Science centre will be transformed during graduation week to host three marquees joining to create a tented village which will host the garden parties each afternoon after the graduation ceremonies. On the Thursday evening Professor Charles McKean will deliver a public lecture on the history of Dundee followed by a concert from the Dundee International Guitar Festival.

On Friday 12 July, the temperature will be turned up for the biggest social event of the year - Summer Sensation - the staff alumni party at 8pm.

Every member of staff is welcome and encouraged to come along to what is promised to be a night to remember. A live local band - Ringer will kick off the dancing in tent one while the ceilidh swings into action in tent two. Halfway through the evening a buffet supper will be served and the 80ft bar in tent three will ensure that your glass is not empty for long. The fun fair outside is advisable before the supper but is open all night for those that are daring enough to take the chance.

All this - and the chance to mingle with 1,000 staff and alumni from all over the University is priced at only 15. Tickets have been kept as cheap as possible to allow everyone to come along and block bookings are on offer for those who come as a group. For the price of five tickets, a sixth one is free and for those who want to make up a group of a dozen, your eleventh and twelfth tickets are free.

This is not an event limited to staff and alumni, partners and friends should feel free to join in the fun. This is the night to make yours to celebrate the end of the academic year.

Summer Sensation is not a ball. It is a party for everyone in the University. The dress code is not formal - just party wear.
