Two students from the school of television and imaging have been shortlisted for the annual Scottish students on screen awards to take place this weekend in DCA.

Sharon Campbell has animated her interpretation of the duet from act three of Verdi's opera La Traviata and Gregor Dewar has illustrated the duplication of a toy mammal looking at how the pursuit for a perfect animal has a detrimental effect on the original.

Over 140 films from colleges and universities across Scotland have been entered for competition at the festival which will run all day Thursday 14 March and Friday 15 March with workshops to enhance film skills and events to forge a closer link between the screen industry and education.

This year, the first day of the festival will feature activities aimed at film making by and with children and young people. Screening of student films and prize giving will take place on Friday. Tickets are available from Scottish screen on 0141 302 1758.
