Twenty Chinese students took a trip to Dens Park courtesy of the Bank of Scotland to witness the excitement of a Scottish premier league match - and to see the star of the day, Dundee's latest signing,, Chinese player Fan Zhiyi.

Kim Burns from the international office took the new students to see the famous player whose signing at Dens Park was watched live on Chinese television. Fan Zhiyi is a big celebrity in China. His portrait hangs in Shangai square and his skills on the ball at Dens Park are transmitted to 400 million Chinese football fans every Saturday.

Kim Burns said: "We are delighted that the Bank of Scotland gave us the opportunity for a day out at the football. The students were thrilled to see a UK football game and loved meeting Fan Zhiyi.

The famous Fan Zhiyi also made a guest appearance at the Chinese new year celebration at the Bonar Hall. A colourful evening was held with Chinese, Taiwan and Korean students in the Bonar Hall to mark the new year of the horse.
