Energy dip

The energy awareness day in October recorded a significant dip in electricity consumption as staff across the University were asked to switch off all unnecessary electrical equipment while out of the office or lab.

Between 12 noon to 1 pm energy consumption dipped by additional 3% compared with lunchtimes on other days. Energy manager Derek Mitchell estimates that if this 3% saving could be made every day the University would save over £20,000 every year.
