Psychology opens new research wing

The department of psychology celebrated the opening of their new research wing extending their department in the Scrymgeour Building. The Principal and psychology's head of department, Professor Philip Seymour opened the new wing and accompanied guests around the department's laboratories to watch research demonstrations.

After the official opening the Principal and guests attended the Drever Prize Lecture "Dyslexia: Biology, Cognition & Education", delivered by Professor Margaret J. Snowling from the University of York.

Funded by the University the research wing will house on four main areas of research: language and literacy acquisition; perception and action; social cognitive development and cognitive neuroscience and biopsychology.
