A new academic political journal with an impressive advisory board drawn from across the world, is to be launched under the editorship of Dr Cameron Ross of the University's department of politics, this month.

Perspectives on European Politics and Society is published by Brill Academic Publishers as a "journal of intra-European dialogue".

Says Dr Ross: "With the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union, we now have new opportunities to exchange ideas and engage in scholarly debates with academics in the newly emerging democracies of Post-Communist Europe. But ten years after the collapse there is still surprisingly very little academic exchange between scholars in the East and West. A primary aim of this new journal is to bridge the academic gap which still exists between these two communities."

The journal will be published electronically only. Readers can subscribe in the normal way and need Internet access to read the articles.
